Active in 50’s on HF CW and on 6 and 10M phone. Inactive during 60’s. Returned to activity in 70’s.

Member of OARC and served as Technical Advisor (1955) and Treasurer (1957).

Currently have capability on all bands from 160 metres to 70 cm, but have not had much time on the air recently.

XYL now licensed as VE3JKP.

Member of QCWA and Chapter 70. Served as Chapter 70 Director (1982-1984 and 1987-1988) and Secretary (2008-2010). Gave a presentation “Spectrum Challenges and Opportunities” at the QCWA 2004 International Convention. At the Chapter 70 November 2005 dinner meeting gave a presentation “A Typical Day at the Office in Geneva” and at the November 2007 dinner meeting gave a joint presentation with Jim Dean VE3IQ “World Radio Conference 2007”. Was presented with the QCWA Century Certificate at the Chapter 70 May 2007 dinner meeting and the QCWA “60 Years Licensed” Golden Certificate and lapel pin at the May 2009 dinner meeting.

Ken became a Silent Key March 31, 2013.

He was inducted posthumously into the Canadian Amateur Radio Hall of Fame. The plaque was presented to Ken's widow Rolande VE3JKP and their sons at the Chapter 70 February 2014 meeting.
