- 1925 - Phil joined Canadian Pacific Telecommunications to begin a 47-year career. During this period he worked as Switchboard Operator, Installer, Morse (Railroad) Operator, Foreman-Inspector, and, at time of retirement, was Senior Supervisor covering the territory from Montreal to Chalk River including Brockville and Cornwall.

Amateur Radio History
- 1938 - First licensed as VE2ET in Rouyn, Quebec
- 1940 - Operated as VE3AZR in Ottawa
- 1947 - Operated as VE2HN in Montreal
- 1950 - Operated as VE3KN from his home in Wendover, Ontario until his death.
Additional Information
Phil remembers passing a lot of traffic related to the 1950 Winnipeg Flood as part of the Emergency Network with Charles Poole VE3OJ as the Emergency Co-ordinator.
He was a member of Ottawa Amateur Radio Club and served as President (1953-1954).
Phil joined QCWA and served as President of Chapter 70 (1979-1981).
Phil passed away Sept 14, 1994 at age 81 years.
