Dave is interested in experimenting with electronics, antennas, and digital communications, and is also an avid photographer.

He is the author of the highly respected column “Antennas and Transmission Lines” in The Canadian Amateur magazine.

Dave is a member of Ottawa Amateur Radio Club. He won Best Homebrew Technical Award for his Morse Code Sending Program written in assembly language.

He is also a Member of QCWA and Chapter 70, and served as Vice President 2008-2010 and President (2011-2013). Dave was a guest speaker at the November 2003 dinner meeting (“Signals and Noise in Amateur Radio Systems”), at the October 15-17 2004 QCWA Convention (“Antenna Family Tree”), and at the September 2006 dinner meeting (“Polarization in Nature”). He received his QCWA “65 Years Licensed” Golden Certificate and lapel pin at the Chapter 70 May 2015 dinner meeting.
