Fredrick (Fred) Green - SK - QCWA# 11514 (Silent Key)
Background
Fred was born on a farm west of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan
Education / Employment History
- 1936-1939 - Fred was a country schoolteacher with up to 43 students in one classroom.
- 1940-1944 - He was in the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve
- 1944-1945 - University of Toronto - graduated with MASc (Electrical)
- 1945-1947 - Fred returned to Saskatchewan for two more years as a country schoolteacher.
- 1948-1959 - Defence Research Board (Ottawa) - Research Scientist. His career took him to the Arctic and under the ocean in submarines. During this period, for three years, he was Scientific Advisor to the Admiral of Maritime Command in Dartmouth, NS.
- 1959-1962 - University of Saskatchewan. Graduated with PhD in Physics.
- 1962-1974 - Defence Research Board (Ottawa) - Research Scientist. For his last few years, Fred was at Communications Research Centre.

Awarded his 65 Year Anniversary Award in 2008
Fred's other hobby and passion was electric cars. He modified a gasoline fueled sports car to electric and enjoyed showing off and promoting the technology at Chapter 70 meetings.
Fred became a Silent Key on Feb 4, 2010.
