- In 1927 Norm passed his First Class Radio-Telegraph Certificate (#1191)
- 1927-1930 - Norm worked at Northern Electric (Montreal)
- 1930-1940 - Canadian Marconi Company (Montreal) - Receiver Engineer. After 1936 Transmitter-Receiver Engineering (land, ship-shore, aviation, and police radios)
- 1940-1973 - National Research Council - Radio & Electrical Engineering Division working on radio and radar electronic engineering
Amateur Radio History
- 1930 - First amateur licence VE2BD in Montreal
- 1946 - Assigned VE3HO in Ottawa after WW II
- 1959 - Obtained the Advanced Amateur Certificate of Proficiency.
Additional Information
Norm joined QCWA and was one of the twenty-one Charter Members of Chapter 70.
On his QCWA application form, Norm noted that he had been licensed since 1930 and enjoyed every minute of it. He wrote that in 1974 he was active on all HF bands from 160M to 10M and on 2M FM.
Norm passed away in 1977.
