Education / Employment History
- 1943-1945 Royal Canadian Corps of Signals. Ken was a Radio Operator attached to the Second Canadian Armored Brigade.
- 1949-1965 - Bell Canada - Technician – at various locations in Ontario and Quebec
- 1965- 1991 - Bell-Northern Research – Technician - Ottawa
Amateur Radio History
- 1948 - first licensed as VE3BZL which was retained until 1953
- 1953 - moved to Labrador with call sign VO2V
- 1955 - Back in Ontario. Assigned VE3DWR
- 1959 - Transferred to Quebec with call sign VE2BBK
- 1965 - Back in Ontario and got previous call sign VE3DWR
Additional Information
He worked the HF bands and occasionally chased DX and QSL cards.
Ken was a member of QCWA and Chapter 70.
At the September 1998 dinner meeting he was presented with his “50 year Licensed” Golden Certificate and lapel pin.
At the September 2003 dinner meeting he was presented with his “55 year Licensed” Golden Certificate and lapel pin.
At the May 2008 dinner meeting he was presented with his “50 year Licensed” Golden Certificate and lapel pin.
Ken passed away July 5, 2008 in his 84th year.
