Bob grew up in Saint John, New Brunswick

His activities in amateur radio included operating all HF bands, and providing phone patches for VE8RCS in Alert. He also experimented with SSTV and was on 2M FM.
Bob was a member of Ottawa Amateur Radio Club and served as President (1965-1966 and 1968-1969).
He also was a member of ‘Capital City Chorus’, ‘Aged In Harmony’ and ‘Barbershop Chorus’ as well as being a barbershop singing coach and judge.
Bob owned his own Cessna 172 aircraft and was a member of Ottawa Flying Club. More recently he had become a member of the Remote Control Airplane Club in Dunrobin.
He joined QCWA in 1995 and attended the Chapter 70 dinner meetings and later some weekly breakfasts.
Bob was an excellent and memorable Master of Ceremonies at the QCWA Convention Banquet in October 1996.
Bob was presented with his “50 Year Licensed” Golden Certificate and lapel pin at the November 2000 dinner meeting, the Century Certificate at the September 2003 dinner meeting and the “55 Year Licensed” Golden Certificate and lapel pin at the September 2005 dinner meeting.
In his last few years, Bob spent the winters in Florida. He bought a cottage in Constance Bay to have more room for antennas and more time for DX during the summers.
Bob passed away on April 21, 2008 at age 76 years.
