Background
Carl grew up on a farm in near Orangeville, Ontario.
Education / Employment History
- 1955-1963 - He owned a radio-television service business at Grand Valley, Ont.
- 1958-1963 - Communications Officer (Volunteer) Dufferin County Civil Defence.
- Carl was trustee for the Civil Defence amateur radio station VE3ZDC.
- 1963-1967 – He was with Department of National Defence as a Radio Operator.
- 1967-1993 - Communications Security Establishment (Field Engineering)
- 1972 - Carl completed his B Sc in Physics from Carleton University
- 1993 - Retirement

Additional Information
Member of Ottawa Amateur Radio Club and Rideau Amateur Radio Club and was active on 6 and 2M.
Carl was one of the twenty-one Charter Members of Chapter 70.
He served as Secretary-Treasurer 1981-84 and President 1984-1986 and 1989.
He was also Chapter 70 Historian 1991-2000.
Carl was nominated for the QCWA Meritorious Award in 2000. The certificate was accepted posthumously on his behalf by his widow Barbara.
Carl developed the database and handled registrations with wife Barbara for the 1996 QCWA Convention, which helped our first Chapter 70 QCWA convention run smoothly.
He passed away March 3, 2000 at age 73 years.
